About
WordCamp Savannah will be the weekend of August 21, 2010 at the SCAD River Club.
WordCamps are low-key community conferences that celebrate all things WordPress and bring together local WordPress users, developers and fans. In Savannah, there are a lot of people using WordPress, and even more who would like to but don’t know where to start, but there’s no cohesive WordPress community here. Let’s have meetups!
This, the first Savannah WordCamp, hopes to bring all these people together to learn from each other, inspire each other, have a great time, and start building a vibrant local WordPress community. We’ll have how-to presentations, some more advanced workshops, some WordPress “celebrities” and a variety of other conference content intended to suit a wide range of attendees on both Saturday and Sunday of the WordCamp weekend. People who are interested in attending but don’t have a WordPress site or blog yet might want to sign up for the pre-WordCamp “Get Your WordPress Here!” full-day workshop on Friday, August 20 so that you’ll know what people are talking about over the weekend.
WordCamp Savannah is being organized by Caila Brown, SCAD Radio General Manager & District Print Art Director and Jane Wells, user experience designer and community organizer for WordPress. Speakers will include both local WordPress users and developers as well as visiting speakers with specialized expertise.

If you’re interested in being involved as a volunteer, a sponsor, or a speaker, send us a message and let us know. Caila or Jane will get back to you soon.
